As you might have guessed, I painted this while was on a trip to Montana in the summer of 2015. The colors I used in this piece took me out of my box, and that’s a good thing.
A new color used, that I quite liked, was Daniel Smith’s Shadow Violet. It’s the darker, dusky purple.
I also like that I left quite a bit of the paper white instead of covering the whole thing up with lovely watercolor colors.
Overall, this may be my most favorite painting from 2015.
