I painted this while at Wapato Point resort on the shores of Lake Chelan in Washington State, USA. I used the “watercolor card” technique to create the trees…a technique I learned from fabulous U.K. watercolor artist, Jean Haines.
Some of the extural effects in the background are from salt. And I also used a new color. Well, at least it was new to me. Daniel Smith’s Ultramarine Turquoise.
Finally, the creased effect was a goof on my part while saving the file in my photo software on my tablet (which I don’t use often). I inadvertently I applied the “creased” effect and rather liked the results so I decided to leave it.
