What a fun piece to paint. Love the wild, unorthodox approach to a water background.
This painting came to be in two phases. Phase I was masking off the fishies, painting the background, letting it dry, and removing the mask. Then it sat. For quite awhile, in fact. Then I finally painted the fishies.
I like the cross pollination of colors among the fishes as well as between the fishies and the background. Helps the piece all hang together.
