I painted this while staying at a ski resort in Ludlow, VT, during the off season. If it wasn’t a brand new resort,I would have felt a bit like the movie The Shining…I think I was the only person staying there! My first, and only so far, trip to New England yielded several paintings. This was done with a travel watercolor kit (pan paints) which a are little more chalky and opaque than those I normally use. I was still pretty new to painting in 2008 when this one came into being.
